Valentine's Day Tea Doughnut Holes

To add the extra Valentine’s Day touch I used The Earl’s Valentine tea by David’s Tea ( I have a lot of their teas). I wanted to come up with a recipe to have another use for my cake pop pan. On to the recipe! (After one more photo)

Valentine's Day Tea Doughnut Holes

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup Buttermilk*
1/2 cup Strong Tea (the amount for a full cup with a 1/2 cup of boiling water)

Optional
 gel food colouring
Powdered sugar
Instruction
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after every addition. Add vanilla extract mix until incorporated. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. In another bowl or cup mix together tea and buttermilk together. Add flour and tea mixture alternately ending with flour mixture. Scoop mixture into cake pop pan making sure they will not overflow.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

 * A buttermilk substitution also works in this recipe.
