Ever since the Ravelry update, I have been debating on how I want to share my Finish Objects moving on. I have been experiencing headaches navigating the site and so I started searching for a new way to share my projects. I tried Instagram however I did not enjoy the limitations of captions and how difficult it was was to refer back to my “project notes”. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to bring back my blog under a snazzy new rebrand! (I purchased my own domain and switched platforms) To share some of my crafting joy in my little corner of the internet.

When the stay at home orders first began, I was searching for a project to really spark my love of knitting again. I decided to pair up one of my favourite colours with one of my favourite yarn textures to knit a lightweight cardigan perfect for a Canadian Spring.

Now a year later, I present to you my finished Truss Cardigan * by Melissa Wehrle for Brooklyn Tweed ! (minus buttons because that is always a difficult decision for me) I will probably end up using white buttons for this cardigan. I chose to knit mine in the size 43 1/4 inches for approximately 5 inches of positive ease. The size range has been improved and now is available in a size 66 inches.

To achieve the gauge stated in the pattern (17 stitches & 26 rows = 4″/10 cm in stockinette stitch) I used 5 mm or US 8 needles for the main body and I used 4.5 mm or US 7 for the ribbing. Instead of using a worsted weight, I used a combination of a fingering weight and mohair. The fingering weight yarn is Brooklyn Tweed Loft in Fossil and La Bien Aimée Mohair Silk in Peanut Butter and Jelly. I purchased both of these from Espace Tricot in Montréal.
